nys divorce process

my fiance told me that his wife's attorney told him that she submitted the paperwork to the judge for a divorce, but he has not signed anything. i need to know what the process is in NYS for a divorce. does he need to sign before it goes to the judge or after? our wedding is planned for august and i am nervous.

I'm a litte confused here - who is the one that filed for divorce?

When you say that the wife submitted the paperwork, it appears that she is the one who is filing - thus, were papers served on your fiance? If he is the respondent, then he should have filed a response..thus, he would have signed papers....

Is there a court date scheduled?
